Hi there,

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing.

When using Color Conversion in Acrobat, if your images are losing detail and appearing noisy (similar to over-compressed JPEGs), it could be related to the downsampling or compression settings applied during the conversion process.

Here are a few things you can check and try:

1. Check Your Conversion Settings:

  • Go to Tools > Print Production > Convert Colors.
  • In the Convert Colors dialog box, look for options like:
  • Preserve Black
  • Preserve CMYK values

More importantly, ensure you’re not applying image downsampling or compression. If your settings are too aggressive, Acrobat can compress images during this process. For more information, please check the help page: https://adobe.ly/3TsHJNa

2. Recommended Steps:

  • Before conversion, go to File > Save As Other > Optimized PDF.
  • In the PDF Optimizer, under Images, make sure:
  • Downsampling is set to Off, or to a higher DPI (e.g., 300 ppi).
  • Compression is set to Lossless (ZIP) instead of JPEG or JPEG2000.

Additionally, If the document has images with embedded color profiles, converting to a different color space (like CMYK or sRGB) can also cause shifts or loss in detail. Try keeping the same color profile or embedding the correct one during conversion. and make sure to always work with a copy of the original file before running any conversions.

Hope this information will help.

No, it same

But, I think it is because the source file have some problem,

when I creat a new file (just a photo) in pdf , and use this function have no problem,

But, when use some file from client, it will be problem,

I try it,  link the client file in illustrator, and Embed it, save as pdf file to change it color, have same problem,

But when I select a photo in this file and cut it and paste in front, save as pdf, use arcobat change the color, this photo have no problem but other have same problem.

Or use arocobat color management setting save as postscript file, to change it will no problem.

Or link in  illustrator save as pdf, when save pdf select convert to cmyk, that will no problem.

In real, most client file have this problem (in my job).
