Adobe Acrobat Crashes on Launch (macOS Ventura / M3 Pro)
Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can help — Adobe Acrobat (desktop app) keeps crashing a few seconds after launching, every single time. It has been working perfectly for years until recently, but now it closes almost immediately.
System details:
macOS: Tahoe 26.1 (Build 25B78)
Device: MacBook Pro (Apple Silicon, M3 Pro)
Acrobat Version: Adobe Acrobat Pro 25.001.20937 (latest available)
Crash behaviour:
The app opens
Stays visible for 2–5 seconds
Then closes automatically with a crash report
Error includes: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) and abort() called
What I’ve already tried:
Updating Acrobat to latest version
Fully uninstalling and reinstalling
Restarting system multiple times
Updating macOS
Signing out/in of Adobe Creative Cloud
Clearing cache and preferences
Allowing full disk access in System Settings
Unfortunately, nothing has resolved it.
If anyone has experienced this and found a fix — or if there's something deeper I should reset (license, plist files, cloud settings, fonts, plug-ins, etc.), I’d really appreciate guidance.
I'm attaching the crash header here for reference (full report available if needed):
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
Termination Reason: SIGNAL, Abort trap: 6
Triggered by Thread: 0, Dispatch Queue: com.apple.main-threadThanks in advance — this is part of my daily workflow, so I’m really hoping to get Acrobat working again.
Adam
