Adobe Acrobat crashes opening Embedded Excel Files.

We are running Acrobat Pro Continuous Release Version 2024.002.20857 64 bit.

We use Adobe a lot to open embedded files in Excel (2016). We can open network and local PDF files, no problem. If we have a "regular" PDF open and try to open an embedded file, Adobe crashes 100% of the time. Often, even if nothing else is open Adobe throws an error of some type (insuffecient data for an image etc.). Is there a way to make Adobe and Excel work together?
