Adobe Acrobat DC freezes up after sending email

Hi Adobe Community,

Anyone have an issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC freezing after emailing a stamped PDF?

Environment :

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2019.012.20034

Here are the steps to replicate the problem.

1. Open a PDF attachment from Outlook 365 email.

2. In Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, click on "STAMP" icon

3. Select "APPROVED" stamp and place it onto the PDF

4. Click "SHARE" icon on top right of the program.

5. Select "Send as Attachment" using "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook)"

6. Microsoft Outlook is now opened up for you to enter the recipient email address

7. Send the email

8. Try to open any other PDF from email attachment or file directory would freeze both Microsoft Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

(If step 8 does not happen, repeat from step 1 to step 7 again)

9. Need to end Adobe Acrobat Pro DC task from Task Manager to make Outlook become responsive again.

I have tried repair installation and replace PPKLite.api (according to https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2542639) but no success.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Hi Meenakshi,

No, the issue is still there. I have read the link provided. It is not Windows system error.

We are using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. (After the original post, we re-installed the program again. Same problem with Version 2019.012.20035)

It is MS Office 365 on a Windows 10 machine.

It is happening on all PDFs. It is also happening on newly created PDF.

Please spend some time following steps listed in the original post. You will be able to replicate the same issue on your machine.

BTW, the version we have is Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, not Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Check if that helps.

If the issue persists, please share the details asked below:

- MS Outlook version

- OS on the machine

- Did you check if the issue occurs with a particular PDF or on all? Try to create a test PDF and try the same workflow.

If the issue is already resolved, please update the thread.
