Adobe Acrobat DC has got really slow when opening drawings

The Acrobat PDF reader has become much slower in the last couple of years, especially when you open a large drawing or document. When you compare it to other programs or the normal browser, Acrobat is really slow. Is this because of the large number of features offered? or is there something in the settings I can do to make it faster?
A suggestion would be maybe create another program to read drawings and design submissions.

Note: I have a powerful machine, so I do not think it is a hardware issue. Also, I like the offered features.

Hi @Abdallah317480902z6c,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with opening files on Acrobat.

Would you mind trying out a few steps for some immediate relief:

1. Go to Preferences> Documents> reduce the number to the right of "Documents in recently used list;"

2. Go to Preferences> Page Display> uncheck "Use Page Cache" and "Enhance thin lines;"

Also, please ensure you are on the latest version of Acrobat (2025.001.20467) for the best experience.

If neither of the steps work, please help us gather logs from your machine: https://adobe.ly/4l1gBRA. Please make sure Procmon is selected. You can upload logs using this tool and share your Unique log ID with us.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Souvik.

Hi Souvik,

Thanks for your reply,

I have tried the steps you suggested and unchecked all smoothing options. The pdf got much lighter and faster, however, Acrobat is still struggling to open the detailed architectural drawing like the one showed below:

It also stops responding if I start scrolling between drawings.
