Adobe Acrobat OCR engine conflict with HP 6600 series and 7680 printers

I am having a HUGE problem with the Adobe Acrobat OCR engine. Here's the problem - when my clients go to embed fonts in a PDF (by printing to a PDF from an open one), the program eventually "craps out" and corrupts the OCR engine.  It causes the HP printer-scanner drivers to stop working and makes me have to re-install them. It also corrupts entirely the temp folder on the computer, so that eventually, can't rename, delete or create files at all.

To fix this, I've re-installed Adobe, the printer-drivers, iTunes, MS Office, the Bonjour service for networked printers, and the HP additional software for scanning, etc.

I've tried to uninstall the HP bloatware and just installing the bare minimum drivers - and that's worked for a while - but that only works for a while and then the problems come back.

I really, really need this solved ASAP.

THANK YOU!

Jeanise
