Adobe Acrobat opening a different file

We have Adobe Acrobat 2020 and Adobe Reader DC installed. Everytime I open a pdf to edit it in Acrobat 2020, it opens a different. The file opens properply in Reader DC and the preview is correct as well. I have been unable to open it properly in Acrobat. The file it is opening is from 2019. I have tried clearing the temporary files following the guides I found and have been unsuccessful. I've saved a separate copy of the file and it still opens to the wrong document. Any suggestions?

    Hi Sean,

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

When you say that Acrobat is not opening the correct file(updated one) and keep opening the previous one, would you mind telling us how exactly do you open the file?

Is it from Acrobat's Recent tab, from file explorer, or from any cloud storage? This generally happens when you have your edited file saved in a different location and from Acrobat you continue to open the old file showing in Recent.

    Try this:

    • Quit Acrobat first
    • Now go to File folder>right click on the latest changed file and Open with Acrobat
    • If it still doesn't work, then save the file to Document Cloud storage and then make changes to it.
    • Or, check with any other file you have. It could be file specific issue as well.

    Thanks,

    Akanchha
