So here is the situation, when I open a pdf file in adobe, it works OK. but as soon as I click on another pdf file to open (while the first one is still open and adobe is running) it takes it like 30-45 seconds to open. same things for the third file and on. the files are normal pdf (and there are no issues with the files. they open ok when are opened as the first file)

Win 11, Adobe acrobat pro 2024.005.20320 64 bit

I have multiple people with this same issue. Windows 11 multiple versions and whatever the newest adobe version is (I checked for updates and there were not any). I have seen this issue across multiple differnet discussions going back several years without any real solution. I figured out something that I have not seen in any other threads and this might give some better insight in to troubleshooting from Adobe's side of this. The user did not have adobe open, and pulled up an email with 5pdfs attached. He was able to rapid fire open all five of them with no lag when adobe was not already opened. He then closed acrobat and opened 1 pdf, waited 30 seconds, opened a second and it took 30-45 seconds to open. Almost like something is causing adobe to be bogged down if you leave it open. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, repairing, disabling security enhanced settings, and modified a couple of other settings that did nothing. I have been telling people to close out of adobe if you are not actively using it. I has helped a little bit, but this is a workaround not a solution.

Hello,

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the trouble.

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 24.005.20xxx Optional update, Jan 30, 2025. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/42PEoO5.

If you have the latest version of Acrobat, could you please share the current OS version with the machine specifications, and the logs from the affected machine for further investigation? Download the Diagnostic tool, run it and follow the onscreen instructions, and share the logs with us in the thread.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
