Adobe Acrobat PDF version recovery

Hello,

I have a PDF that I have been editing by highlighting it over several days. When I opened it today, I found that much of the highlighting has been deleted and an older version of the document opened by default. I cannot access the latest saved version, which has everything highlighted. I've been saving the document in Adobe Cloud, but I don't have a local copy.
Is there any way to recover the latest version? Is there any reason why everything that was edited has been deleted?

Thank you in advance, best regards.

You may have opened the wrong file. Check your local disk, if you haven't, by error, saved a copy locally and continued to work on that file.

Thanks for your answer.

Nope, that's not the case. There's only one copy of the file on my device, the original pdf, and the one I've been working with had only been saved on the cloud, not on my pc.
