Adobe Acrobat Portfolio Folder Question

I am working with Adobe Acrobat Studio and when I create a folder inside a Portfolio and add content or files I can't move them back to the root or to another folder. Is that by design or do I have to export them and re add them?

    Hello @Kimberly5FEB,

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please share more details about the issue?

    1. Which version of Acrobat are you using? Check for Menu (Windows) | Acrobat (Mac) > Help > About Adobe Acrobat.

    2. What OS are you on? (A) Windows, (B) macOS

    3. How are you trying to move the files? (A) Drag-and-drop inside the Portfolio layout, (B) Right-click/menu options, (C) Other

Please note that within a Portfolio, you can drag files to rearrange them inside a folder, and you can move files into folders or between folders that are at the same level. The docs do not describe moving a file back up and out to the root, and there is no "move to root" command. So that specific direction is not a supported operation. Moving a file from a folder back to the root is not a documented, supported action in a PDF Portfolio, so in most cases, you do end up removing and re-adding it (or extracting and rebuilding).

    Suggestion:

    1. For testing purposes only: In Acrobat, open the Menu (Windows) or the View menu (Mac) and choose Disable new Acrobat, then restart.

    2. Open the Portfolio and switch to the Details/list view (View > Portfolio > Details).

    3. Under the Name column, try dragging the file to another folder or to the root.
