Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 - Student / Teacher Edition (Windows/Mac, DVD)
We have been using Acrobat Standard XI with our ScanSnap scanner for years, but want to update to a more modern/recent perpetual license version. It seems that the most recent perpetual license version is Acrobat Pro 2020. Before we buy it, we had a few questions:
1) Does this version work fine with the ScanSnap scanners? And it will do OCR just fine? (That's what we mostly do with it). Any reason to think the 2020 version won't do everything the XI version did?
2) We are old school, and usually like to buy the CD/DVD, rather than just download the software. We'd like to buy the CD/DVD of Acrobat 2020, but we're not sure the DVD drive on my wife's computer is still working (and we might decide to install on a laptop without a DVD drive). If we buy the CD/DVD version, and can't install with the DVD, can we just download the installation file from Adobe and activate it with the serial # or code, etc., that will come in the box with the CD/DVD version? We've done that in the past with other software, but just wanted to make sure that it will work with this.
3) Finally, my wife is a public school teacher in California, but her school district emails end in ".org" rather than ".edu", and I think I read that you need an ".edu" address to qualify for the teacher version of the program? Is that true? We also have two kids in college, so I suppose we could use one of their email addresses (they both have ".edu" emails), but this program will be used by my wife mostly, so we wanted to use her address. Plus, she'll be a teacher for another decade or more, and the kids will be out of college in just a few years (not sure if we will ever need to qualify again).
Thanks for any help!
Jim
