Adobe Acrobat Pro DC crashes with no error when attempting to combine PDF and TIF files

I have a user that is running into issues combining files into one PDF. It appears to combine all the PDFs fine then gets stuck on the second TIF on the list and crashes with no error message.

The previous technician tried:

Uninstall all acrobat products

rebooted and then ran the AcroCleaner_DC2015 to remove all acrobat files and folders

Rebooted and installed Acrobat DC Pro from saved install file

Had user sign in to Creative Cloud

Combined 50 .tif files without a problem but when trying to do another combine process the program crashes without any error.

I tried to follow the instructions found here:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/when-merging-documents-acrobat-freezes/m-p/10034782#M113280

but was not able to remove the com addin in order to re-add it. possible permission issue. Also, this issue isn't with Office file types.

we tried reinstalling Acrobat Pro DC directly from the website this time, but no change.

I did have the user try converting the problem TIF, then returning to the combine pile, it went farther but still crashed, according to the user.

The issue has involved multiple sets of documents.

Are there any solutions besides painstatkingly removing and converting every problem TIF, then putting them back to continue the combine?

thank you for any assistance!
