adobe acrobat pro installation on mac os sierra

I am trying to install adobe acrobat pro from Adobe creative suite 4 on mac os sierra for first time.

it goes through the installation process but the application doesn't open.

any suggestions?

Suggest that since you have the latest Mac OS you need the latest apps.

I have seen it mentioned that an OLD version of Java must be installed to get an old program (CS6 and earlier) working with your new operating system https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US
