Question

Adobe Acrobat Pro keep crashing on Mac

Whenever I have Adobe open for a while viewing a pdf, it crashes after about 30 minutes, so I have to close it down completely and reopen.

I have a large document to compile in pdf in a few weeks, and could do without this happening while I'm doing it, so wondering if anyone can help!?

Hi @Mike25784717p4eg

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

Looking at the description above, it seems you have recently started experiencing this issue after installing the latest update for Acrobat or Mac.

Would you mind sharing the Adobe Acrobat version you are using? To check the version, go to Help > about Acrobat and ensure you have the recent version 22.002.20191 installed. To check the update, Go to Acrobat> Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once (you must save all the work before restarting)

To download the patch manually, more information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

2- For testing, Navigate to Adobe Acrobat>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat and check the performance.

Note: these changes are only for testing purposes. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.

3- If it is on the latest version, then you may once run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application's files traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Do you still experience the crash issue?

Thanks

Akanchha

Hi Akanchha,

Sorry, I tried these solutions but none of them worked unfortunately.  Is there anything else you can suggest?

Hi @Mike25784717p4eg

I'm sorry for not getting back to you on time.

To further investigate this, please collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html and share them with us by uploading it on Cloud storage.
