Adobe Acrobat Pro not showing text

I have created some simple graphics in Adobe XD:

However, when I export as PDF and open in Adobe Acrobat, the label text in the upper lefthand corner is not showing:

When I open the graphic in an online PDF viewer, everything shows up fine, so the problem is definitely with Acrobat. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro (continuous release | version 2025.001.20432) and restarted my computer (Macbook Pro 2020, running Sequoia 15.3.1), but the problem persists.

The font used for the label is the same as the main/larger text and I have checked to be sure this font is installed properly. Also, you can see in the Adobe XD screenshot above that the layers are not hidden.

Of note, I have previously exported other graphics from this same document (exact same layout, fonts, etc.) without issue.

What's going on here?????

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.2043x Optional update, Mar 19, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and check. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/3FSQwEy

Open the PDF, go to File > Properties > Fonts, and ensure all fonts are embedded. See this article for more information: PDF fonts, Adobe Acrobat

For testing purposes, disable the Security settings, Go to Menu> Preferences > Security (Enhanced) and disable Enhanced Security and Protected View. Restart Acrobat. Please enable the security settings after the test.

Ensure your display settings are set correctly. Go to Menu> Preferences > Page Display and adjust the rendering settings.

Since converting labels to paths is not an option, ensure the font used for the labels is properly embedded and not causing conflicts. If the issue persists with specific labels, try re-creating the labels using a different font or re-embedding the current font.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

@kg01915 everything seems to be good. And yes, that should work. Let's try a different route.... Convert the text to outlines. It would mean the text becomes a path and is no longer text. It is a work-around?

  • Selecting the text object
  • Then go to the Object menu and choosing "Path" then "Convert to Path"

Try that, and see if that works.

Yes, that did work. However, I cannot convert those labels to paths because we need them to remain editable. What's very strange is that the same font is used throughout and it's having no problem printing the main title on each graphic, just the upper lefthand label.
