Question

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on a MAC

I have a Macintosh and now seem to have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in order to read my PDF files.  I used to be able to select pages from my PDF files and drag and drop them into emails, but now I cannot.  It stated I had to buy the program, so I did. But when I went to download it, it says Acrobat Reader DC is not available on a Mac.  How did it get there to begin with?

You can delete the Flash Player Installer and its aliases.

You know, I think you used to use the app called "Preview" for your PDF files, as it can do what you say...

Yes, Acrobat Pro is available for Mac. So, what do you see in Applications?

Can I put anything in the trash?

Is it possible that your PDF files used to open in Apple's Preview application? This is the default PDF viewer on a Mac. After you install the free Adobe Reader, that will become the default application to view PDF documents. I am asking because Preview actually does allow you to drag&drop individual pages from your PDF file to an email. Keep in mind that Preview will modify (I usually use the term "destroy") your PDF page. See here for more information about Preview and PDF: Preview.app - Killer of PDF Files - KHKonsulting LLC

If you had an older version, perhaps of paid-for software, maybe it's still there. Take a look in your Applications folder - what Adobe, Acrobat or Reader folders do you see there?

If you were able to do that you had Acrobat (or some other PDF application), not the free Adobe Reader...

What version of MacOS do you have? What is the exact version about not being compatible? What said you had to buy? Because it’s free!

Thanks for responding. I am working on mac os Sierra 10.12.6.  When I had my file open (and had the page thumbnails visible on the left side) on the right side, I used to be able to drag my individual pages to emails. Do I have to buy Adobe Acrobat Pro in order to perform this simple function now - move pages?

I really do not remember downloading this new version because In February I created these  PDF's files (which were individual statements for members of a club) and I did exactly this function - drag each statement onto their email to send.

Thanks!

Oops - I wanted to add - on the right side was a list of options you could now do if you buy an advanced version:

So all I want to know, is will DC Pro work on a Mac?
