Adobe Acrobat Reader Professional XI Full Version-how to edit text?

Hi!

I have a question regarding an Adobe Acrobat Reader Professional XI Full version purchased in March 2018.

Managed to use it before in March 2018 without problems for filling in forms which are scanned from paper in PDF mode but now I am having problems keying in text for filling in the information in the scanned forms.

When I try to edit text after creating the form fields, I get error messages like "This is a secured document. Editing is not permitted." and "Acrobat has detected that this page does not have editable text or has scanned content. Such documents are best edited by converting to another format using the Export file option in Content Editing Panel."

At times I manage to key in the text in part of the form but when I try to key in text to fill in another part of the form, the above error messages appear! So I only manage to have a partially filled form!

I don't want to use the Export file option in Content Editing Panel as it converts the scanned form into programs like Microsoft Word and then I can't opt to just print the text keyed into the form eg. the name and identity card numbers of people requested in the form.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Tan

Why did you buy software that was discontinued years ago?

But anyway, a key point is that FILLING FORMS IS NOT EDITING. Do not attempt to use editing tools if you have made the form fillable. Just type in them - done!

If it is a secured form, you either need to get the password to unlock it, or print it out and fill it in by hand.

Dear Sir

Thanks for your response.

If I need to fill it in by hand, then what's the point in buying this program?

The password is the same as the product key which was supplied earlier when it was installed? Which buttons need to be clicked to key in the password?

How come earlier when I just bought it, there was no such problem?

Your issues lies in the third paragraph.

This is a secured document. Editing is not permitted.

If the document is secured, you need to unsecured it before you can edit it. Does your PDF have a lock icon in the left-hand pane? If no, then your document is secured. In order to secure the PDF, will need the password used originally when the document was secured. That is NOT the same thing as your Acrobat serial number.

Did you create the PDF from scratch? Or did someone else create it? Knowing this will help to figure out how the PDF got secured.

If you post a link to the PDF here, that will help us troubleshoot why you can't edit fill out the form.
