I have a client that has Adobe Acrobat 2025….. on their system. They have a creative cloud subscription. I want to upgrade them to 26.1 (Inside of creative cloud it says that is the version, but acrobat says different). Is there a way to force the upgrade or somewhere to download the upgrade file? (The upgrade option is missing from under help).

    Correct answer Anand Sri Bhattacharya

    Hello @CJmartel1976,

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please share more details about the issue and the requirements?

    1. Which OS is the client on?
      A) Windows
      B) macOS

    2. What exact version shows under Menu > Help > About Acrobat? (e.g., 2025.x.x vs 26.x.x)

    3. How was Acrobat originally installed?
      A) Through Creative Cloud (subscription)
      B) Standalone/perpetual installer (non-CC)
      C) Not sure

    4. In Creative Cloud Desktop > Apps, does Acrobat show an “Update” button, “Open,” or is it missing entirely?

Try downloading the Acrobat updates manually from the Menu (Windows) | Acrobat (Mac) > Help> Check for updates. Install any available updates, restart the machine and check.

For enterprise or IT-managed Acrobat installs, if Acrobat was installed from an enterprise package, Acrobat can be deployed through packages created in the Adobe Admin Console, and admins can deploy Acrobat using the package Setup file on Windows/macOS. Check this article to learn more: https://adobe.ly/4yn8buJ

For packages that are out of date, admins can:

    • Create a package with the latest versions of the applications,

    • Deploy applications using the Creative Cloud desktop app, or

    • Use Remote Update Manager (RUM), depending on package configuration.

    • Check this article for more information: https://adobe.ly/44vzoh6

So if this client’s Acrobat was deployed by IT, the correct path is usually Admin Console package update/redeployment / RUM, not forcing the update from the Acrobat Help menu.

You can also perform a clean re-installation using the Acrobat Cleaner tool, remove the installed Acrobat, restart the machine, and download Acrobat.

I hope this helps, and let us know if you need any assistance or have a different question.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.
