But of course the policy for Windows 10 is continual change. We are really up to about Windows 13 now, with major changes each year. Microsoft were clever; they promised to keep changing the system, but to avoid people sticking to old systems, they will keep the same name (Windows 10) forever. Don't expect any old app to last forever. This is why subscriptions are potentially best value.
