Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for Mac has been unstable and freezes

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for Mac has been unstable from when I first bought it Oct 2015 but now whenever it has been opened in a session (whether it is still open or not if I haven't restarted) my mac continually freezes no matter which combo of apps might be open at the time. HELP!!!!!!!

Could you please check if an update is available for Acrobat?

Choose Help>Check for Updates

You may also download updates manually from the following link:

Adobe - Acrobat : For Macintosh  (Scroll down the page to get to the version 11.0.xx)

If that doesn't work, try the steps suggested in the following link:

Troubleshoot Mac OS 10.x system errors, freezes | Adobe software

Please let us know the dot version of Acrobat installed on the computer.
