Adobe Banner or Signature Panel is missing.

Hello Everyone,

 

Good day to you and hope you are doing fine.

I got a question when trying to access the pdf documents via MS Teams the Adobe Banner or Signature Panel in PDF documents is missing and not appearing. Same issue when we access the pdf document via SharePoint site and using Microsoft Edge Browser.

But if we access it via a folder or download the file and open directly in Adobe Acrobat, the Banner / Signature Panel is available.

Can you please advise on what is missing on our end. Do we need to enable something on our settings? Or install an Acrobat plugin for MS Teams, SharePoint, and MS Edge Browser? if there is any plugins.

We are sorry for the delay in response.

 

Have you started experiencing this issue recently? Would you mind sharing the version of Acrobat DC and the OS you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.3.20258 installed. Go to help > check for updates and reboot the computer once.

 

Also, please check for any missing pending updates for MS Teams, MS share point or MS Edge browser and try updating it and check. 

 

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in MAC  and try using the application there.

Hi Amal,

 

OS is Windows 10 Enterprise and Acrobat DC is on Continuous Release | Version 2022.002.20212 (Version File 22.002.20212.0).

 

MS Teams, MS SharePoint, and MS Edge are all updated. I don't have the full admin rights that is also why I can't create a test user.

Please update the application to version 22.3.20263 (OPtional update Win only) from the help menu > check for updates and reboot the computer and check if that works.

 

Also please try to get in touch with IT at your end to test the application in the new user profile.

Essentially you're dealing with entirely different programs which display signing information differently if at all.

It means that the adobe banner for Signature Panel will only appear on Acrobat? And it depends on the programs that I'm using if it will support on displaying the signing information?

Exactly!
A PDF viewer can completely ignore the validity of signatures in the PDF (and many do).

And even if a viewer validates the signatures in a PDF, it may display the validation results in a completely different way than Adobe does.
(Of course other viewers can use a validation result display similar to that of Adobe Acrobat but they don't have to. On the other hand, even if a validation result looks similar to that of Acrobat, it may still have a different meaning, in particular in details.)
