Adobe changing format/text

Hello, 

I created a document off of a word document. I password protected the document so that the doc itself wouldnt be able to be revised but have fillable boxes for people to use and fill out. 

Recently we have folks having issues with font sizes changing within the fillable boxes and contents getting cut off. 

Has anyone else had this issue and if so how do we fix it without having to start all over with a new document?
