Adobe DC Pro missing text when converting Word document

Depending on how you choose to convert a Word document causes our document to be missing 2 BOLD words on bottom of pdf. All the font in the doc is Arial.

Method that Worked- In Word choose "Save a Copy", then choose "pdf" in drop down - this creates the adobe file without errors/omissions

Method Missing Text at Bottom of PDF- If you choose "Save As Pdf" directly in Word-->File, the pdf document is missing 2 instances of a title (font not an image) at bottom of last page.

We'd like to know why this may be happening as these are legal documents and we need to be sure it is converted 100% accurately. We believe the first method worked correctly but are still reviewing the document to be sure.

This issue has still not been resolved. I must create 508 compliant PDFs. I want to know why the missing text is happening during the conversion from 365 Word document to Adobe Acrobat Pro. When exporting and publishing the Word doc as PDF, does make the text appear. But if you look at the content panel, the missing text shows it as an images. Adobe, please resolve this glitch.

I saw last week that there is an update for Acrobat. Have you installed it? I have but haven't really had a chance to test it yet - I created one PDF from a Word document and it was fine but I definitely need to try it out some more. I currently have version 2022.001.20085 installed.

Hi all,

We are a courseware vendor using Adobe Acrobat DC Standard to turn files into PDF before they're used internationally. Around early November we were advised steps were missing from our manuals. An example of our issue that relates to the one discussed can be found below. Here is the document when we pusblished it as a PDF around July:

In the example above steps 5 and 12 dissapeared but the graphic in line with the text had not dissapeared. As with other customers in this post, we can not deem this product suitable for purpose unless it creates a like for like copy. We are currently using the native save as PDF copy feature in Word until this is resolved however, if unresolved we will simply terminate our subscription as this is all we use the product for.

FYI...I've been using the Save a Copy > PDF method; however, I recently noticed that the cross references (including the table of contents) in my PDF documents weren't being converted to hyperlinks. I think I fixed the issue though - when using this method to create a PDF, click the Options button in the Save As dialog box, then deselect the "Document structure tags for accessibility" check box.

Getting the same issue when going Microsoft Word > Save as Adobe PDF... on a long Word document. This is a critical bug.

Here is an example of the behavior I get. Text that's visible and searchable in Word, is missing and not searchable in the Adobe PDF output. Blue boxes are redacted.

Graphics also disappear. I'm now using the Save a Copy command to convert Word files to PDF, but I still go through the entire document to make sure nothing was deleted.

Adobe, is there a fix for this? We need to know the conversion from Word to pdf is 100% accurate. These are legal documents.

I too am experiencing this issue as of very recently. Nothing has changed on my computer, Adobe DC or Word, and yet now I cannot rely on my Adobe DC 'save as PDF' feature as it is removing single lines of bold text at the bottom of the first page of random documents, the symptoms are completely random, if you delete a letter from the missing text and retype it, then it shows in the PDF, but if you do the exact same fix in another similar document the missing text remains missing. We've had the IT guy look at it and after much troubleshooting he said he's got a tool to fix it, but he'd have to go steal it from a nearby construction site as it was too heavy to carry with him 🙂

For context, we've uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe DC, attempted tweaking the PDF compatibility, tagging, quality and embedding preferences. So far any fix we've had works once but seldom a second time. At the moment the only way i'm reliably able to save PDF's is to print to Microsoft PDF. This works ideal every time but isn't convenient as I use the Adobe DC Quick Save feature which is much more efficient.

Any help here would be much appreciated!

Since the recent Acrobat update, I'm having an issue with a lot of content missing from PDF documents that are created from Word documents. When I use File>Print>Printer and select Adobe PDF, it seems to work OK though I think the font looks off in some places.

Thanks for the update. I have been using File>Print>Microsoft PDF and that seems to be working okay for now, I will give Adobe PDF a try. However, I much prefer the 'Quick Launch' shortcut for Adobe PDF as i'm creating many documents in quick succession and this process shaves off a lot of time for me.

Adobe, It would be good to see a fix for this issue as i'm currently unable to use your software the way i've used it for years, and it's the primary reason i'm paying for the software. Any advice would appreciated.
