Question

Adobe DC will only combine Word files to the first section break then moves onto the next file

When I combine multiple files, Adobe DC only converts Word (docx) to the first section break, then moves onto the next file. The remainder of the Word document is not converted and left out of the final pdf. This makes Acrobat DC useless for what I need it to do (and which it used to do)

How can I have DC combine all of Word documents?

Can you please describe the method you used for your conversion attempt?  There are a number of ways to do this.  You could select a collection of word docs in you OS, right click and choose Combine Files in Acrobat..., you could click on File>Create>Combine Files into a Single PDF.

I would say that your described result sounds peculiar, but in years of dealing with PDFs, I can tell you that creating PDFs in varying ways can sometimes yield varying results!

My best,

Dave

I've isolated the problem - it spits the dummy when there is a change of page orientation. IF there is a Section Break, but no change in page orientation, it works. Same document, change the page orientation, it fails. But it only fails when combining documents. Converting it as a single document works OK.

Aaarrrgh!

Charlie - can you let us know exactly what technique you are using to combine the files into a PDF?  When someone runs into this sort of thing, I like to see if I can duplicate the scenario and see the results - and maybe find a work-around.

Thanks.  My best,

Dave
