Question

Adobe error "there was an error while reading a stream"

I am working with Windows 7 Pro and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and I am using a Fujitsu ix500 scanner.  I have updated the drivers and software to the scanner, Adobe is patched and up to date and I have moved the documents being scanned to my local machine before trying to import them into our document management software OnBase.  I am still getting this error and it causes my OnBase program to freeze up/crash about every 15 documents or sometime it only allows me to import 1 or 2 documents before it crashes.  I am not sure what to try next to resolve this error.

Please install latest update of Adobe Acrobat DC and if you still face the issue please set the registry value:

Path: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureState]

"4228380"=dword:00000001

Please share the crash logs if still crash issue is not resolved.

To create crash logs please follow these steps.

1. Retry the scenario where Acrobat crashes
2. Do not close the pop-up when Acrobat crash
3. Open Task manager
4. Right click on “Acrobat.exe *32” process and select ‘Create Dump file’
5. It will create a log file in temp folder. (Path will be displayed on pop-up comes when logs created). You can also check this under

    • Open Run process (Win+R)
    • Type %temp%
    • Logs file will be available here with name "Acrobat.DMP" or "Acrobat(n).DMP" if there are other Acrobat dumps exist.

Adobe send can be used to share the file

  1. Launch your Application
  2. Switch to Toll Center view and Open Send & Track
  3. Click on “Select Files to Send”
  4. A dialog will open from where you can choose the file/s you want to share
  5. The workflow page will appear with the file/s to be shared prepopulated
  6. Click on Create Link
  7. Your Local files will be uploaded to the Document Cloud and a Public Link will be generated
  8. Share the link with us to send us the Crash Dumps

OR How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Thanks.
