Adobe error when trying to encrypt a file with password

Question

I get this error every time I try to encrypt with a password. I clear the error and it works the 2nd try, but this happens every first try. I've already tried repairing Adobe.

Could you please tell us your workflow for encrypting the files? Are those files located on the network or on a cloud drive?

Please ensure your copy of Adobe Acrobat is updated. To check for any pending updates, launch Acrobat > Help > Check For Updates.

If you are still experiencing the issue, help us with the following details:

Acrobat version installed: https://adobe.ly/3PQQ7nE
OS name and version.
