Adobe freezes when trying to open a URL from a PDF

I have a user running the latest version of  Adobe Acrobat Pro 64 bit.  When he clicks on a  URL within a PDF document the application freezes and it takes forever to open the link.  I have run a repair and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it still happens.  Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this issue.

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

 

We rolled out some major stability and bug fixes/enhancements in the subsequent releases. Would you mind updating the app to the latest version (2024.005.20320) and letting us know if it fixes the issue?

 

If not, you might want to try the below steps: Go to Menu-> Preferences-> Security (enhanced)-> uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at Startup"-> Restart.
