Adobe Issue - Zoom-In & Zoom-Out

I’m having an issue with Adobe Acrobat on my Mac. Every time I zoom in or out on a PDF, the view jumps to a different page or sheet instead of staying on the same one. It’s making navigation very difficult.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far without success:

• Preferences > Page Display > Use smooth zooming – I’ve unchecked this box

• View > Page Display > Single Page View – Enabled this, but the issue persists

Here are some additional suggestions and troubleshooting steps you can try, ranging from common fixes to more in-depth solutions:

1. Reset Adobe Acrobat Preferences:

Corrupted preference files are a frequent culprit for strange behavior.

Close Adobe Acrobat completely.

Go to your Library folder: In Finder, click "Go" in the menu bar, then hold down the "Option" key. "Library" will appear in the dropdown. Click it.

Navigate to: Library > Preferences

Find and move (don't delete yet!) these files to your Desktop:

com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist (or similar, depending on your Acrobat version - e.g., com.adobe.Acrobat.ProDC.plist)

Any other files starting with com.adobe.Acrobat or com.adobe.PDFViewer

Restart Adobe Acrobat. This will create fresh preference files. See if the issue is resolved. If it is, you can then delete the old preference files from your Desktop.

2. Check for macOS Accessibility Settings Conflicts:

Sometimes, macOS accessibility features can interfere with application-specific zooming.

Go to System Settings (or System Preferences) > Accessibility.

Look through sections like "Zoom" and "Pointer Control."

Temporarily disable any custom zoom or pointer settings you might have enabled, then test Acrobat again. If the issue disappears, you can try re-enabling them one by one to pinpoint the conflict.

3. Test with a Different Mouse/Trackpad:

While less likely, a faulty mouse or trackpad could send erratic input.

If you're using a third-party mouse, try using your Mac's built-in trackpad or a different mouse to see if the problem persists.

4. Update Adobe Acrobat and macOS:

Ensure both your Adobe Acrobat and macOS are up to date.

Adobe Acrobat: Open Acrobat, go to Help > Check for Updates.

macOS: Go to System Settings (or System Preferences) > General > Software Update.
Outdated software can lead to compatibility issues and bugs.

5. Disable Graphics Hardware Acceleration (Less Common but Worth a Shot):

Download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat from the official Adobe website and perform a fresh installation.
