Adobe locks up constantly. It’s so frustrating, I have bot been able to use it for months now. Now I really need to edit some work. I tried, “repair installation, it gave me error message 1730; I am the only administrator. I tried reinstalling it and now it’s thoroughly jacked!. Where can I get support, your support pages have not been helpful.

    Hi @BabBert36236783jlpe ,

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

A couple of things would help narrow this down:

    • Which Acrobat product and version are you running (Acrobat Pro DC, Standard, Reader), and on Windows or Mac?

    • When it freezes on Edit, is that the "Edit PDF" tool specifically, or does it lock up as soon as you click anything in the toolbar?

Error 1730 usually shows up as a Windows Installer permissions issue, even when your account is listed as an administrator; Windows sometimes doesn't fully "elevate" that account during install/uninstall. A couple of things that tend to fix it:

    • Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator instead of just double-clicking it, then try the repair again.

    • If that still fails, remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://adobe.ly/4wQGWHz, reboot the computer, and reinstall the application using the direct link https://adobe.ly/4bBZCm8

Let us know how it goes
