Adobe not correctly communicating with HP Deskjet Pro 8620

I have a new Dell XPS Laptop with pre-installed Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.  When creating PDFs from the scanner (HP Deskjet PRO 8620), it will not use the document feeder.  Nor will it let me dictate the scan size.  Basically, it will scan what is on the glass, that is it.  Does anyone know a fix?
