Adobe OCR and Edit PDF error

Question

I receive the following message when trying to edit PDF:

"Unable to process the page because the Paper Capture recognition service experienced an error. (10001)"

And I receive the following when trying to use the OCR:

"Acrobat could not access the recognition service because:

Unable to locate the Paper Capture recognition service. Your installation may be corrupt.

This is probably due to either a low memory situation or an corrupt installation. If the problem is not cleared up by shutting down other applications and/or rebooting, then please re-install Acrobat."

I have a Macbook Air 2020 using the Apple M1 chip running MacOs Big Sur. The other threads in the forums only assist with Windows errors.

I have tried reinstalling and clearing up applications, rebooting etc nothing seems to work!

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting the error 'Unable to locate the Paper Capture recognition service. Your installation may be corrupt'

Please try to remove the application using the Acrobat Cleaner tool - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the link - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Additional information: Adobe is actively working to build apps that run natively on Apple computers using the Apple silicon M1 chip.
