Adobe PDF is missing from my printers list

Hello,

I used to have a standalone version of Adobe Acrobat that allowed me to print a document to a pdf file with no problems. I have since upgraded to creative suite and now every 2 or 3 days "Adobe PDF" is missing from my printers list. I have to open Acrobat and repair it to get it back. Is there a way to fix this permanently?

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, the PDF printer is missing, Is that correct?

If the Acrobat Pro is installed, try resetting the preferences of Acrobat, to reset the preferences, refer to How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

Reboot the machine and see if this brings any difference. Make sure the latest update of Acrobat is installed, check for any pending updates from Help>Check for updates.

You can also install the PDFPrinter manually, refer to Adobe PDF printer is missing | Manually install PDF printer Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/add-pdf-printer-manually.html

If the issue still persists, please use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove Acrobat Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install Acrobat from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, 2017, XI, or X

None of this works. Have imaged a reference PC to deploy to new PCs. Acrobat DC Standard is software installed prior to imaging. After deployment I uninstalled Acrobat DC Standard to install Acrobat DC Pro. Once Acrobat DC Pro is installed the Acrobat printer is missing. Performing a repair of Acrobat DC Pro does not restore the Acrobat Printer. Using Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner and reinstalling Acrobat DC Pro does not resolve the issue.

The add pdf printer manually when tried for each Adobe PDF Converter returns the following error...

"Printer driver was not installed. Unable to find a core driver package that is required by the printer driver package."

    PDF Printer has gone missing from Devices and Printers two months in a row after patches were installed (Tuesday to Wednesday). The PDF Printer was working fine Tuesday during the day before the patches were installed. These were the top suspects listed in Control Panel:

    On one workstation, I did a repair from within Adobe Acrobat. PDF Printer was still missing at completion. Performed repair on Acrobat from Control Panel Programs. PDF Printer was still missing at completion. Repeated both internal and external repair. Still no PDF printer. Performed one more Acrobat repair from Control Panel Programs. Adobe PDF Printer finally displayed after completion. This happened a month ago with the last updates as well. Is anyone experiencing the same issue.
