Adobe Pro 5.0 Compatibility

I installed 5.0 in a computer.  I tried to open a pdf and I received the following message

There was an error opening this document.  The file is damaged and could not be repaired.

What is the issue?  Will current .pdfs open in Adobe 5.0?
