Adobe Pro not allowing document merge

I have a user attempting to merge multiple documents in Adobe Pro, she gets an error saying “You do not have access to this feature. Please contact your IT admin for more details.". If she makes multiple attempts, eventually it does allow her to do the merge. What do I need to check? App version is 2026.001.21662

System is Windows. Error message occurs throughout the day. I’ve asked my account admin about the admin console and profile. I’ll check those last 2 items when I get back into her system.

    Hi @magnetic_Daisy8312 ,

Thanks for the detailed report, that's helpful context.

A few things would narrow this down: is the user on Windows or Mac, and is Acrobat deployed and licensed through the Adobe Admin Console with Named User Licensing? Also, does this happen right after the machine starts up or right after the user signs in, or does it happen randomly throughout the day, regardless of how long Acrobat has been open?

The pattern you're describing, where the error clears after retrying rather than being permanent, points toward a licensing entitlement check that's timing out or racing with the network on the first attempt, rather than the user actually lacking the license.

Worth checking on your end in the meantime:

    • Confirm in the Admin Console that this user is still correctly assigned to the right product profile with no pending sync

    • Check whether this happens only shortly after login or app launch (suggesting a startup timing issue) versus at random points in the session

    • Have the user fully sign out of Acrobat, close the app completely, then sign back in, rather than just retrying the merge within the same session

    • If you're using any device-based licensing or a shared/VDI environment, confirm the device itself has a valid license seat, since that error can also appear when device-based entitlement hasn't refreshed yet

Let us know the OS, licensing type, and whether it's tied to app startup timing, so we can isolate the issue further.
