adobe pro will not open files that it created. repaired installation. worked. now it will not convert pdf files it created to excel. I must print pdf to pdf then convert. jumping hoops with acrobat pro to get anything done is getting very old!

Thank you for sharing this. We understand how frustrating it is to repair Acrobat so the PDFs open again, only to find that exporting those same files to Excel now requires printing them to a new PDF first.

A few details will help us separate the earlier file-opening problem from the current conversion problem:

• Which operating system are you using?

• What is the exact Acrobat version shown under Help > About Adobe Acrobat?

• Does the Excel conversion fail for every PDF, or only for PDFs created through a particular workflow?

• How were the affected PDFs created, for example, from Microsoft Office, a scan, combined files, or another Acrobat tool?

• When you select Convert > Microsoft Excel > XLSX, what happens? If an error appears, please share its exact wording or a screenshot.

• Does a newly created, simple one-page PDF convert successfully to XLSX?

If the conversion still fails across multiple unrelated PDFs, please run Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics, reproduce the conversion problem, select Share logs, and post the generated Log ID here.
