Adobe reader free and paid version on AVD

Hi ,

 

For one of our customers we have an Pooled Azure Virtual Desktop environment. Most of the users only need Adobe reader. Only a few of them have an account at Adobe to logon.

 

Is it possible to let both type of users work on the same AVD host?. Because it is a pooled environment with scaling plan we cannot let all users  with adobe accounts logon to  one host and all other Reader users on the other hosts.  Further more we don't want the normal reader users to get questions about upsale or sign in. 

 

Has anyone an idea if that is possible without creating an extra hostpool.

In a pooled Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) setup, both Adobe Acrobat Reader users and licensed Acrobat (signed-in) users can technically work on the same host, as long as the Reader installation is properly configured. However, since Reader is designed to surface sign-in prompts and upsell messages for premium features, there isn’t currently a built-in way to completely suppress those prompts for standard (non-signed-in) users within the same environment.

 

To minimize interruptions for Reader-only users, we recommend deploying Adobe Acrobat Reader using enterprise deployment settings and configuring the Registry or Group Policy to disable upsell messages and sign-in prompts. This approach allows you to maintain a single pooled environment without needing an extra host pool.
