Question

Adobe Robbery

I have had a copy of Adobe Acrobat 8 on CD that I have used for 20(?) years about 6 (six) times a year if I get busy. It has everything I need and I'm almost getting my investment back out of it. Am I really expected to pay for this program now after I bought it and owned it for 20 years? I only use it six or fewer times a year. When I do it's exactly what I need. Everyone wants money now. I gave Adobe my money when I bought my CD! No one told me they were going to take it away from me me later. I'm very upset. I can't afford to pay for it and why would I when I don't use it a lot? But what will I do when I do need it? This is terrible! Is there something else to use for PDFs?

Acrobat doesn't normally run from a CD. It's not a portable app. If you have it installed and running on your machine it should continue to do so, but you won't be able to install it on a new machine since Adobe retired the activation servers for it. I think that's an unwise decision, but it's beyond our control as end-users, and I'm sure they included some language in a sub-sub-sub-paragraph of the EULA that allows them to do it...

What happens when you use Adobe Acrobat?
