Question

Adobe Scan files are not shown in the "Adobe Scan" category in Acrobat Pro 2017 classic track

Hi,

I am using the Adobe scan app and the scans are uploaded to document cloud. I can see and open the files from within Acrobat Pro 2017 in the Document Cloud section. However, when I click on the "Adobe Scan" category under file lists, it tells me that this folder is empty (this is where the ad for Adobe Scan was placed before I signed into my account). But shouldn't the Adobe Scan files be shown here? This seems like a bug to me.

My understanding was that the Classic thread does not include any web services. That said, it's a puzzle why the Classic thread would even show Document Cloud at all.

I don't know about that, but I can seeminglessly open document cloud files from within the classic track version of Acrobat. Therefore, it shouldn't be a problem displaying them in the Adobe Scan category as well, right? Also, why advertise the Adobe Scan service in Acrobat and tell the user "Sign in now" when the advertised functionality is not available?

I agree it's a puzzle. https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/whatsnewdc.html doesn't answer your question but does seem to say a key difference between the tracks is that "The Continuous track provides service-based tools". By implication, that suggests the Classic track does not. Hmmm. You may be in a "half and half" situation, where the teams working on Acrobat are not working in a coordinated way. I'd love to hear otherwise.

Hi mathiss

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the Adobe scan folder is showing empty.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Peo 2017 you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat pro

Make sure you have the latest version 17.11.30166. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

You may also try to repair the installation (For Windows Only) Go to Help > Repair Installation

You may also try to turn off the protected mode for testing.  Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced security  > Turn off the protected mode and uncheck the enhanced security
Note: Please turn on the security after testing

Let  us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Hello Amal,

I indeed use the newest version of Acrobat Pro 2017 - 17.11.30166 - on two Macs with the newest MacOS (10.15.4). The problem happens on both Macs. Disabling the enhanced security did not change anything.

Sometimes when I restart Acrobat and click on the Adobe Scan category, I now get the ad "Try the Adobe Scan app" instead of the "This folder is empty" message, but without the "Sign in" button. It really seems like a malfunction to me.
