adobe sign keeps crashing when I request a signature. I urgently need it to work. What should I do?

Every time I open a pdf and request signatures, it crashes. The pdf is saved and can be reopened but I’m in a doom loop. I’ve read some community questions where you suggest removing the app, but I’m unsure if I’m also supposed to remove the install/uninstall elements of Adobe too. I did remove the app alone and then try to reinstall but it wouldn’t let me. I’ve also unticked legacy on adobe references and something else that was suggested in a thread (sorry going mad here and can’t remember exactly). I’ve seen suggestions on running a clean up of the files but worry that will wipe my history of adobe entirely. Please help, this is a real drag.

    Hi herob27064356,

The desktop application does not store your documents. The files you open in Acrobat are either saved locally on your device, in Adobe Cloud storage, or in another cloud storage service you may be using. Therefore, if you uninstall the desktop application, none of your PDFs will be deleted.

If you are working on any PDFs, save them first before uninstalling.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

It’s all pdfs. If I uninstall everything will I lose all my old files that are stored with you?

    Hi herob27064356,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble caused.

If you need to send the document urgently, please use the Acrobat web account to send the document for signature. You may use the steps suggested here: Send documents for signature.

Regarding the crash issue, please check whether it occurs only with this specific PDF or affects any PDF you try to send for signature. To test this, try creating a sample file.

If the issue persists, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined here: Adobe Acrobat crashes. If that still doesn't resolve the problem, you may need to reinstall Acrobat. Please follow these steps:

    • Uninstall the application, then run the Acrobat Cleaner tool from the following link: Acrobat Cleaner tool.

    • Reboot the machine.

    • Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: Install Acrobat.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi
