Adobe XI standard gives an out of memory error

Hello --

I have a user with win 7 pro 64 bit with 16 gigs of ram who is using adobe xi standard. Adobe will show the first 6 or 7 thumbnails then when he clicks on the next one in the sequence, he gets an out of memory error. At one point he encountered a message about reinstalling. I have cleared his temp files, ran a repair and when that didn't fix the issue, I removed and reinstalled Adobe. I am not sure where to go with this and would appreciate some help.
