Question

after combining pdfs, bad Xref entries reported

Hi all,

I combined two pdf documents and it all went well.

Afterwards I realised that the two documents were different sizes (actual page sizes). Found a tutorial online showing how to overcome this. So far so good.

I have opened the "new"  file on 2 different machines using adobe and no problem, but on a 3d machine I receive the error message that the file has "bad Xref type entires", which I've read up on but don't pretend to understand. It isn't a major issue, but I'm concerned other users of this file (it is to be made available to many) might experience issues opening the file. How do I fix this? I have saved under a new name, as some suggested, but nothing has changed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi art1511,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please let us know if you are opening the PDF using the same application on a third machine. If yes, please share a screenshot of the error message and the PDF version saved on that machine so we can check.

Did you make any changes to the PDF on the third machine or before opening the PDF on the third machine?

Thanks,

Meenakshi
