After merging files into one PDF: How can I add the file names to the footer when printing this PDF

Hello,

I merged several files (images) into one PDF.

I'm using the bookmarks (with filenames) for the navigation within the PDF.

Now when I print the PDF I have no idea how I can add the former filename as a footer or as a image caption on each printed page.

What I'm looking for is a kind of automated way to achieve this and not a manual page edit version.

I'm using Adobe DC Pro with WIn 10.

Thanks for any idea!

You can accomplish this in a rather 'manual' way.  Here's what you might want to try:

Acrobat will allow you to apply a header and footer to a specific range of pages, and add a different one to a different range of pages in the same PDF file. This would allow you to, for example, apply a footer to pages 1 - 6 that reads "Document 1".  Then you can add a second Header & Footer instance to pages 7 - 16 that could read "Document 2", and so on.  To do this, you would select Edit PDF > Header & Footer > Add...   You would add your first set for the 1st doc.  Revisit the same tool and add a different footer to a different page range.

I hope this helps!

My best,
