AFTER MORE THAN 10 YEARS >> ACROBAT LAGS LAGS LAGS INTO PERPITUITY

Cannot even edit a 3 page resume with a modern supercomputer without getting screen jitter and lag.

Clicking on a text box to edit text requires waiting 8 to 10 seconds from the time that I type until the text is rendered on a screen ....

I am trying to simply copy and paste a color of crimson from one text box to another and there is no mechanism for me to apply the same text color .. I have to open up Microsoft Paint to get the correct RGB Code.

Resizing a text box causes flashing and lagging ...

Over 10 years ago this is why I chose to use Microsoft Word and Power Point rather than Adobe.

Same problems persist today.    AWFUL ... I ask Chat GPT how to overcome the lag.  It tells me Adobe is known as LAG CITY and advises me to use Microsoft Word.

FIX YOUR PRODUCT!!!!

Hi Admired_Skyline2464,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Acrobat.

As the application lags during PDF editing, please ensure it is updated to the latest version. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates.

Try the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/3JuPC39.

You may also try reinstalling the application using the following steps:
-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/4odfG1H).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://adobe.ly/4og7H3V;

If the issue still occurs, please collect the logs using the diagnostic tool and share the log ID.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

While I feel for your plight, I’ve also got to say that copyediting a PDF file — or editing much of anything within a PDF with Acrobat or any of a half-dozen PDF editing alternatives I’ve tried is always my option of last resort.

I’ve never been able to do even “a couple of little edits” of a PDF that would be faster than going back to the original application where that content was created, doing those same “couple of little edits” on the source file, then creating a new PDF from the source application.

That’s not to say I won’t edit a PDF file if a client requires it. But it’s most always under duress. I recognize from the front end that it will take more time and effort than generally necessary, and I price my services accordingly. Even Adobe Systems reflects on Acrobat Pro limited editing capabilities. To crib a quote from another context, users editing PDFs often are “so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.”

Your mileage may vary,

Randy

I tried the update.  Didn’t have time to reinstall and redownload this big program (most of our employees dont have Administrator Rights to do this anyway).  But what worked wonders was going to the file drop down and selecting “Disable New Acrobat”.  Went to the older look and I can actually select the Text Tool Icon without freezing “Not Responding” for 10 to 20 seconds.  I can actually get some work done.  Not sure if this is recommended or not, but if you have a timeline, like most of us, we can’t sit here ALL day trying all these things that dont work.  I will be ditching Adobe soon for another option my coworkers have already went too.  Adobe needs to do better.

There has NEVER been an editing job that IN ALL MY LIFE as a LIFETIME user of Adobe Acrobat .. where I have not spent more time overcoming delays and challenges with the software than I did on the actual task at hand.

Quality of features ... about 7/10  ....   Ability to use the product without frustration at the product .... -100 out of a scale of 0 to 10.

Low quality product .. ALWAYS .. we should be paid to use it rather than have to pay.   Of course Reader is 10/10 ... Adobe Editor is abysmal ... worse than dead dinasours .. always has been ... disgusting and pathetic.

Did I forget to mention how insanely difficult it is to simply get text boxes selected.   I'm trying to select two text boxes to align them ... and over 20 minutes passed and still not successful.    3 page resume .... DISGUSTING ... VERY POOR QUALITY SOFTWARE ... FIX IT.
