Akamai Netsession download error "content verification failure" "content invalid" for Acrobat Pro 8

Have a valid license and install disc for Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.  In 2008 this was installed and activated on one of our Windows computers.  Now we want to transfer the program to a different Windows computer.  Uninstalled the program from the original computer.  However cannot install and activate on the new computer because the Adobe activation servers for this older Acrobat version have been taken off line.  Went to Adobe website, logged into our account, and from the exchange serial number CS3/4 web page obtained a new serial number.  The next step on the web page is to download the replacement Acrobat installer.  Clicked on the Acrobat 8 Professional English language, Windows link, downloaded and installed the Akamai_Netsession_Installer, and then it automatically began the process to download the APR08_Win_ESD1_WWEFG.exe file.  However the Akamai Netsession download immediately failed with the error: "Content verification failure (Content invalid)".  Also attempted this download on several different Windows 7 computers using several different browsers and all downloads failed with the same Akamai Netsession error.  Contacted Adobe customer support but they explained that this procedure is the only way to download the replacement Acrobat installer.  How do I successfully download the replacement Acrobat installer?

you have to download via that page.  the public downloads won't work with that serial number.
