Question

Allowing certain fillable fields to individual users

Hello All,

I have created a fillable pdf. User A will fill out one section then forward to User B. I want to allow User A to fill in their section but deny User B from modifying whatever User A has filled in. Lastly there are sections for User B to fill out as well. I am not concerned with locking down User B's sections, only User A.

Can anyone tell me how to accomplish this? All users aside from myself will be accessing the pdf via the free reader product.

User A gets the form first, fills out their section then forwards to User B to fill out their section. I do not want User B modifying User A's work. I dont care if User A modifies User B's work.

Hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance!

Acrobat can access the login Name and use that to unlock and make visible a field. You will need to install a special script file in Acrobat's/Reader's application's or user's JavaScript folder to allow access to that value on starting Acrobat/Reader.

You should be aware that making the login name available to an Acrobat form could pose a security risk.
