Hi Team,

I've activated Acrobat Pro today (28th May, 2025) with a payment plan of Annual, billed monthly through a credit card. According to the plan, free trial is for 7 days from today and will be charged Rs. 944/- on 5th June, 2025. But, amount was debited from my credit card immediately after starting the free trial.

When I checked with the bank, they said merchant initiated the transaction. Kindly, help with this issue.

Regards,

Bhaskar

Hi @bhaskar_2541,

Thank you for reaching out.

Upon reviewing your account, we can confirm that you have an individual Acrobat trial plan associated with the Adobe ID used to post this query.

The charge visible on your credit card is an authorization hold, not an actual debit. This amount is temporarily held for up to 7 days to verify the payment method, and it will only be charged if the subscription continues beyond the trial period.

If the trial is canceled within 7 days, the authorization will automatically be released and no payment will be collected.

We hope this clarifies your concern. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,
^AN

this is the type of behavior that makes people hate corporations, lying to a customer straight to their face with bait and switch highway robbery.

Putting a hold on an amount is a common practice to insure payment is available when it is due. Hotels and car rental agencies do it all the time. While it does count against one's overall credit limit on the card, it is not the same as a charge.
