Annotation features -- which if any applications improve on Adobe Acrobat Reader?

After installation on my Mac and complaining about serious problems, I have

now been told that "Acrobat DC Pro is not compatible with Mac OS Monterey".

I'd like to find an app that accepts annotations as entered from AA Reader, but

also allows me to export annotations to an external file which I can then

convert to text, and from which it is easy to extract the "comments" that have

been associated with highlighted text.  (These are intended as index entries;

I want to do this for checking.)  Does Adobe Acrobat PDF Pack offer any such

facilities?

I'm sorry to hear about the compatibility issue with Acrobat DC Pro on Mac OS Monterey. Regarding your specific requirements, Adobe Acrobat PDF Pack primarily focuses on basic PDF functionalities and may not provide advanced annotation features or the ability to export annotations to external files.

For your needs, you may want to explore alternatives such as PDF Expert, Skim, or Foxit PhantomPDF, as they often offer robust annotation tools and enhanced compatibility with Mac operating systems. Ensure that the chosen application supports exporting annotations to external files and converting them to text for your indexing purposes.

Before making a decision, it's advisable to check the features of each alternative to find the one that best suits your annotation and indexing requirements.
