Anyone annoyed with opening any pdf and Adobe automatically opening sign in page?

I had free version of adobe. Life is good. I bought Acrobat pro because of needing to edit and sign documents concerning my elderly Mother's care. Now anytime I attempt to open a pdf it opens, almost instantly has popup for adobe login and can't view pdf till I do. Went to cancel service and Adobe wants to charge me for a year subscription to cancel.
