AppHangB1 – Acrobat DC on Windows 7.0 Pro with extra support

Starting Acrobat DC brings up the "recent" screen, with Acrobat icons instead of thumbnails, then changes to a black screen and no content. When I give up on waiting, trying to close Acrobat helpfully informs me "Acrobat is not responding" – I think I knew that! – but also displays a little pull-down "View problem details". This identifies the "problem event name" as AppHangB1.

The web searches I've tried all return results from (at the latest) a couple of years ago, and don't seem to identify a simple, correctable cause. I'm also having problems with the CC app at the moment, perhaps because of working remotely through a corporate server: internet access is fine, which is how I'm able to post to the forum, but the CC app says unhappily "Unable to reach Adobe servers". Related? unrelated? any ideas welcome.

Hi there

We are sorry for the trouble and the delay in response. I hope you would be able to fix it by now

if the issue still persists, please update the application to the new version 20.009.20065 go to Help > Check for updates and see if that helps.

You may also try to repair the installation (For Windows only) Go to Help > Repair Installation

Regards

Amal

What is your exact version of Acrobat (not “latest”)?

Thanks for picking up on this: version number 2020.006.20042

Since posting, I've been watching closely. It seems to me the problem could be related to my profile: pie-chart top right, Acrobat works … but then I would see whole new areas of ignorance opening up. Where is this profile stored? why might I sometimes not be able to access it? surely I don't have to have live internet all the time I want to use Acrobat?
