Question

Are Adobe's Servers SAFE?

Hi,

I just purchased a Dell 5690.  I decided to put Adobe Acrobat on it.  Been using Adobe products since the company was founded.  I'll defer on comments there, but what happened today was WEIRD and TRUST DESTROYING.  Adobe folks, refer to case # ADB-37902089, because it got even better after I tried to learn from the nice guy in a tough spot without the information to do anything.

I purchased Acrobat standard and downloaded it after all the Adobe cha cha.  Ran the exe.  As it paused to wait for a pass code, which I needed to get from another PC (this is an install for a PC that we will NOT use e-mail or outside comms on), I rec'd two emails with codes.  The 2nd one worked...I also got some e-mails about the account not being set-up, but it had been...other than that code.  Got me.  Seems there's issues.

ADOBE ACROBAT FROZE.  I couldn't do anything except force quit from the Task Manager (we're on Win 11 24H2).  When I went back into the browser (Brave), Adobe was still clinging on and telling us to redo all the things we did and offering a new .exe.  I just closed out.  At the same time, my other PC, the one with the e-mail was suddenly dropped from the router and REQUIRED ME TO TYPE IN A NEW PW.  Sounds fishy right?

Because I don't leave WiFi on, I reconnected to WiFI using the brand new DELL 5690.  Suddenly, the fan went to maximum speed (loud) for about four seconds and it shut down.  On reboot, it entered diagnostic mode.  From there to the Recovery Window.  Windows is failing to load.

(We also close off all the Windows leaks (data gathering) that use our resources when we're trying to use the PC.)

I'm awaiting assistance from DELL, but the PC was BRAND NEW and had NO ISSUES with the other programs we installed.  ADOBE seems to be implicated - it all stemmed from the wanked up install.

Maybe they should stop the shenanigans and go back to doing business like they used to.  I mean, do foreign agents (or us political actors) lurk in their company and systems?  I am not joking.

Looking for a response that ACTUALLY ADDRESSES the QUESTION: ARE ADOBE'S SERVERS SAFE???

At a minimum, what the HECK happened during what has for years been a simple install...nobody elses servers caused trouble.

Cheers.

Hello,

Adobe places a strong emphasis on security, with multiple layers of protection, regular security monitoring, and stringent protocols in place. They follow industry standards and continuously invest in their infrastructure to safeguard data. However, no system is entirely free from issues, and sometimes unique setups like yours can experience unexpected problems.

Given what you've described, it does sound like an issue with the installation process rather than a significant security breach.

Thanks, Jennifer.

I would have thought the same/not a secind thought, if it had not been accompanied by some strange behavior on the WiFi network, which caused a PC to need access PW to be re-entered. (there has never been such issue on that PC - it was the one that received the access codes to finish the Adobe Install (new PC will never use email)...and when Acrobat locked up, that PC was dropped from the network and couldn't reconnect before re-entry of information.  It appears like phishing code/malware.

(Last week, we found a dormant, latent, Phishing.A.Gen virus that had not been detected for SIX years.  Using an old PC, I learned that as of mid-2022, this 2018 variant had still not been included in the virus defs.  Based on the infected file, this came from a server download, not through e-mail or manual file transfer.  The current issue that took place during a (frozen) Adobe install issue is exceedingly odd.  I've done my job to report it. Ask for more info any time.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Happy New Year.
